At the closing event of the 9th season of the remote education platform Future Engineering (Ateities inžinerija) held at VILNIUS TECH, students from across Lithuania presented nearly 400 innovative STEAM projects — ranging from artificial intelligence systems and robotics to sustainability, green energy, and smart technology solutions. The authors of the best projects were awarded prizes established by the university and its partners.
Students Tackled Real-World Challenges
This year, participants in the programme were able to choose from 21 project topics and consult with VILNIUS TECH researchers. Students explored challenges in ecology, medical engineering, energy, and technology, while developing prototypes, applications, design solutions, and innovations aimed at solving real-life problems.
Among the presented projects were many focused on artificial intelligence, green energy solutions, sustainability, automation, and the application of technology to everyday challenges.
#EnergySmartSTART Representatives Evaluated the Strongest Teams
Representatives of #EnergySmartSTART, a project partner, joined the evaluation committee during the event. They assessed students’ presentations and selected the strongest teams in two thematic areas — Environmental Protection and Green Energy — based on the innovation of the idea, practical applicability, and relevance of the problem being addressed.
This involvement gave students an opportunity to present their ideas not only to the academic community, but also to energy sector professionals, receive expert feedback, and gain practical insights.
While students were presenting their projects to the evaluation committee, teachers had the opportunity to participate in various training sessions.
“Future Engineering” Inspires the Creators of Tomorrow
VILNIUS TECH’s Future Engineering (Ateities inžinerija) is a programme designed for students in grades 7–12 to develop creativity, STEAM-related skills, technological knowledge, and entrepreneurship through practical experience. Participants carry out integrated project work focused on researching real-life environmental challenges and developing practical solutions.
