Long-term financial support contributes to making the study fields of energy engineering and electrical engineering more popular. In 2022, energy companies allocated the funding of 246 thousand euros to multiple higher education institutions. One of them was Ignitis Group that donated 150 thousand euros to 8 higher education institutions, providing the possibility to disburse scholarships to 50 1st-year students. 36 thousand euros to support 1st-year students was given by EPSO-G company. Finally, 60 thousand euros were awarded by the Ministry of Energy.
Studies become so much easier to focus on, when you don’t have to worry about the issue of money. For this reason, starting from 2023, energy companies plan to fund scholarships of a certain number of 1st and 2nd-year students. We want to encourage young specialists to deepen their knowledge in postgraduate energy studies. Our goal is to increase the number of the new-generation energy specialists with Master’s degree, who could continue their research and practical activities in our area. Due to this, we are allocating scholarships to postgraduate students of energy-related study programmes in Latvian universities 2023-2024.
Starting from 2024, financial support will be provided to the best universities abroad. These scholarships will enable future energy specialists to acquire their desired education in even better conditions.
